Out with the National Observatory on Canine Behavior! Since the publication of a decree in the Official Journal on March 2, this entity is no longer a member of the National Identification Commission (CNI). This decision seems logical given that the observatory still lacks legal status.
Furthermore, the removal of a hypothetical observatory will allow the CNI to address a pressing issue: the management of the identification of domestic carnivores in France.
In fact, the Ministry of Agriculture had issued a call for bids to select the new entity to manage identification for the next ten years. While three organizations submitted bids, two appear to be in a position to win the contract: the French Kennel Club and the Syndicat national des vétérinaires en privé, the two long-standing players in the field.
